Open Space

Ken-Caryl Ranch’s open space is one of the community’s most treasured amenities, offering residents access to private trails, scenic overlooks, and six exclusive campsites nestled right outside your back door. Whether you’re looking to hike through beautiful backcountry terrain or spend a night under the stars at sites like Gothic Overlook, Silver Cliff, or Tin Cup, the open space provides a rare opportunity to connect with nature while staying close to home.

To access the private trail system, residents are required to wear an Open Space ID Bracelet, which helps rangers and volunteer patrollers identify authorized users. Bracelets are available free of charge at the Ranch House and Community Center, with a limit of two per household. Guests are welcome on the trails when accompanied by a bracelet-wearing resident, and temporary guest bracelets are also available.
